Welcome Grade 9 Performing Arts students and parents!
Drama students are completing weekly journal entries.
Students are required to complete a half page.
This week's theme is:
Journal 16 - If you could change one thing about our school General Byng (not including people), what would it be? What would make our school the best it could be?
Journal 15 - What do you think of performing for an audience? What comes to mind? Do you feel that you have made progress in this area over the school year?
Journal 14 -Actors often rely on their voices to covey emotion, generate humour and explain the story. This week watch a television show or a film and describe how an actor uses his/her voice to convey these sentiments. Use specific examples from the TV show.
Journal 13 -When in life do you need to improvise??
Journal 12 - Great actors are not afraid to __________...
Journal 11 - Something that makes me (happy, sad, angry, mad) is _____, because ____.
Journal 10 - What are you looking forward to? Why?
Journal 9 - If this week were a song, it would be ______________ because _____________________.
Journal 8 - When you hear the work parody...what comes to mind?
Journal 7 - What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word puppet?
Journal 6 - Tell a story. This could be done in writing, pictures, collage. Be sure to include an introduction, a middle and conclusion.
Journal 5 - Watch a 30 minute TV show with the volume turned off. How did you react to watching a TV show without words? What were you thinking while you were watching? Were the actors able to convey a message with their body language?
Journal 4 - If I could change one thing in the world it would be _______ because _____.
Journal 3 - If I had a super power it would be ____________ because____________.
Journal 2 - Who is your favorite actor? Why is he or she your favorite? What films have made you form this opinion?
Journal 1 - Why did you choose Drama class this year? List and explain three goals you have for this course.
We are always looking for donations for our 'Tickle Trunk' or costume collection. If you have any old house hold items or gently used clothing or costumes to donate, it would be greatly appreciated!
